Geoffrey Hewlett Thompson (born 14 August 1929) is a retired Anglican bishop. He is a former Bishop of Exeter in the Church of England. Thompson was educated at Aldenham School〔Who's Who2008: London, A & C Black, ISBN 978-0-7136-8555-8〕 and Trinity Hall, Cambridge. After National Service in the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment, he studied for ordination at Cuddesdon College and began his ordained ministry with a curacy at St Matthew's Northampton〔(Photo of church )〕 after which he was first vicar of St Augustine, Wisbech〔Crockford's Clerical Directory 2008/2009 Lambeth, Church House Publishing ISBN 978-0-7151-1030-0〕 and subsequently of St Saviour's Folkestone.
